Targeted to community-based organizations that partner with schools, this training is designed to help participants gain a deep understanding of how to navigate the public school system and its support programs for students and families experiencing homelessness. Topics covered include: the McKinney-Vento Act, eco-mapping for your community, and resources available at district and state levels. Presenters include: Mehret Tekle-Awarun, Director of Practice Innovation, Building Changes; Kayla Blau, writer and youth advocate; Joey Heilman, Education Strategy Specialist, Building Changes; and Samie Iverson, Senior Manager of Education Strategy, Building Changes.
