Spotlight on our Practice Innovation team

Published: November 8, 2022

The work Building Changes does at the intersection of housing crisis, education, and health would not be possible without the collective wisdom and leadership of our Practice Innovation team. From providing tailored assistance to school districts to developing and implementing our grantmaking strategies and supporting grantees to succeed, their work is rooted in people, partnerships, and community. Over the past year they’ve expanded their programmatic reach, and have restructured Building Changes’ grantmaking process to further advance our commitment to a culturally sensitive and holistic approach to ending homelessness.

“We mean what we say, and say what we are going to do. I’m proud to see our ideas turn into actions, ” says Director of Practice Innovation, Mehret Tekle-Awarun. “We’re leaning in, working towards our goals both externally with our partners, and internally in how we support each other as a team. The last three years have underscored how vital such partnerships are to meeting today’s challenges and realizing tomorrow’s opportunities.”

Building Changes is proud of the impact our Practice Innovation team is making. Thank you for creating a culture of growth and joy in all that you do!
