Shaping Systems

We shape equitable systems that work for youth and families.

Shaping systems means tackling the root causes of homelessness—structural racism, generational poverty, and persistent inequities in housing and education.

We work across these systems to align efforts, remove barriers, and ensure responses are equitable, prevention-focused, and rooted in community. By collaborating with policymakers, advocates, and partner organizations, we help build systems that actually work for youth and families.

Through statewide advocacy, we:

  • Advance equitable policies that prevent homelessness
  • Amplify community voices in Olympia
  • Share trusted data and stories to drive bold change
  • Connect state systems and local communities so proven solutions can scale

This work has expanded the Homeless Student Stability Program, increased funding for Diversion services, strengthened support for young people exiting systems of care, and secured legislation to improve access to opportunity, health care, and housing stability.

By reshaping policies and breaking down silos, we move beyond short-term fixes to durable, community-centered solutions. Together, we can create a future where every child, youth, and family has the housing stability they need to succeed.

Join us in advocating for lasting systems change—because ending homelessness starts with fixing the systems that cause it.
