Families and young people deserve equitable resources that strengthen identity and belonging.
We build solutions with communities, not for them.
Centering communities means starting with the voices and leadership of those most impacted by homelessness. Our programs bring together schools, housing providers, advocates, tribes, policymakers, and local leaders to align systems and co-create change. By collaborating with trusted partners and elevating lived expertise, we ensure solutions are grounded in culturally appropriate care and are informed by the people that know best.
How We Do It
Through the Washington Youth & Families Fund (WYFF), we invest in organizations and tribes that know their communities best. Together, we test new approaches, provide flexible funding, and scale strategies that combine research with cultural wisdom. This includes helping immigrant and refugee families heal from trauma while securing housing, and supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ2+ youth to transition safely from systems of care into stability.
By centering culture, identity, and lived experience, we can confront racial disparities, dismantle systemic barriers, and create lasting solutions so every family has a fair chance to thrive.
